Mexi-Can Forum 2017: NAFTA without Walls

In this third edition of our flagship event we are bringing industry, research, government, education and non-profit thought leaders from Mexico and Canada to discuss the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Conversations will revolve around the benefits Canada and Mexico have enjoyed since its establishent, the implications of imminent changes expected in the coming months as well as the new opportunities that a renegotiated NAFTA will represent for both economies. 

The Mexi-Can Forum is a non-profit event organized by the Society of Mexican Talent in British Columbia and supported by the General Consulate of Mexico in Vancouver. The Society’s mission is to promote the development of academic, scientific, technological, entrepreneurial, social responsibility, life sciences and innovative projects between Mexico and Canada.

Objectives 

  • Analyze diverse perspectives from specialists, experts, researchers and leaders on strategic issues related to NAFTA

  • Create an space for communication, collaboration to strengthen bridges between Mexico, Canada and USA

  • Present to the community projects that the Mexican-Canadian Global Network of BC has been carrying out and seeks to promote to a wider audience

  • Highlight cases and success stories on strategic issues related to NAFTA

  • Discuss potential opportunities of the Mexico-Canada relationship on strategic issues

  • Encourage participants to promote initiatives and projects that benefit Mexico-Canada and their own organizations/individual/communities
