ZAIRA FLORES

Zaira Flores, is a proud restauranteur and owner of Cinco De Mayo Mexican Grill for the past 8 years, and Director of the not for profit organization Vamos A La Escuela International Scholarship Foundation. Coming from humble beginnings, she believes the secret to living is giving. So she dedicates time to being actively involved in the local and Latino community, and giving generously to those less fortunate. Through Cinco De Mayo, she helps feed local homeless throughout the year, donates to local causes and sends Santa to children in need at Christmas. Vamos A La Escuela, which is inspired by Victoria Esteban, raises funds to finance education, clothing, food and medical care for underprivileged children in marginalized areas of Mexico.

HEDI CHABLE

Dr. Hedi D. Chable is president of the Association of International Doctors of British Columbia (AIMDBC). Dr. Chable is an international doctor with a specialty in Emergency Medicine and she works in the medical research field while continuing as doctor in training to complete the process of her medical licensure in British Columbia. The AIMDBC’s mission is to help international doctors with the medical licensure process in British Columbia and to integrate foreign doctors into the medical system to ensure that they continue practicing medicine in BC. The Association has 800 international doctors and currently three committees: the Mentorship Committee where Mentors and Mentees works together; the Educational Committee which helps international doctors prepare for the Canadian medical Exams and the Alternative Pathways Committee helps international doctors find job opportunities in the health sector.

LUIS BATIZ

Luis is originally from La Paz, Mexico. He emigrated to Canada in the year 2000. He studied law at the Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico) and also at the University of British Columbia. He started his own practice in July 2005. He practices primarily in the areas of immigration, real estate and corporate law. At the beginning of his law practice, Luis dedicated time to answer legal questions freely for the purpose of providing some guideline to people seeking help. He initially started doing so in a website called Tecito.com. Once Facebook became a popular social communications medium, he started answering questions every Friday in several Latin or Spanish´s speaking groups. At this time, he has answered over 10,000 legal questions.

SALVADOR TREVIÑO

Salvador was the Director of International Relations Canada for Tecnologico de Monterrey, a role that involved promoting study abroad opportunities for Mexican and Canadian students, alumni, and executives between Tec de Monterrey and over 60 Canadian education institutions. Notwithstanding the fact that his role benefited Tecnológico de Monterrey and its partners, he considers his core role the recruitment of Tec de Monterrey students for Canadian partners and the maintenance of relevant relations with the faculty and staff members. He represented Tec de Monterrey to organizations such as Mitacs, the Mexican embassy in Canada and its consulates (the Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal branches) and the Canadian embassy in Mexico. Salvador is now a full time faculty member at University Canada West in Vancouver.

Thousands hampers needy families. Over 100000 kg clothing basic supplies donated

Over 1 million dollars medical equipment donated in Mexico. Built and delivered water purification systems.
